Joint constitutional review committee delegation concludes Mpumalanga hearings

A delegation of the Joint Constitutional Review Committee, which is conducting public hearings into the desirability of amending section 25 of the Constitution to allow expropriation of land in the public interest without compensation, has completed hearings in Mpumalanga.

A husband, Peter Scooby (43), and wife, Alleta (47), have been remanded in custody after they appeared in the Middleburg Magistrate’s Court on Friday 13 April 2018 for Fraud following their arrest by the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation Unit on Thursday, 12 April 2018.

[MIDDELBURG] Two security officers shot and wounded at mall

Two men, believed to be in their 30s, were shot and wounded by a group of alleged robbers at a mall in Middelburg last night.

At approximately 23h30, ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene and started treating the two security officers.

Both men sustained moderate injuries and they were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
