Be responsible and save water

A lot of water is wasted due to leakages and in a manner in which people are using this precious resource.  People do not seem to understand the value of water, thus using it excessively without thinking about the future, considering that the country is considered a water scarce country by United Nations.

We need proper education on water and for people to be taught to save more and not let water go into waste. There are many ways that water can be saved such as using grey water for other purposes. Our country needs to really adopt a culture of reuse, reduce and recycle in order to save our water from the taps.

People need to take rain harvesting seriously, in so doing, they will collect more water other than always running to their taps when they want to use water. The water from rain harvesting can be used for many other things, such as washing our cars, watering our plants, washing etc.

We should also look into the way we bath because that is where some water is wasted.

South Africa has not yet recovered from drought and water levels are on the decline in major dams in the country, therefore, it is high time that people changed the culture of wastage and rather conserve more.

Reduce water usage, it is the responsible thing to do.
